Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Budgetpeer app for iPhone (the "App"), distributed through the Apple App Store. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

The App

Budgetpeer is a manual budget tracker. You enter your income, expenses, and Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) purchases yourself; the App never connects to a bank, card, or financial institution. BNPL purchases are split into installment transactions on the dates they are due, so each month's budget reflects what is actually owed.

Your account

You sign in with Apple, Google, or an email address and password. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. One account per person. You must be old enough to enter into a binding agreement where you live, or have a parent or guardian's permission.

Plans and pricing

Budgetpeer has a Free tier and a Pro tier.

Free is available indefinitely at no cost and includes every feature, with these limits:

  • 20 transactions per month, counting both transactions you add by hand and occurrences generated from recurring transactions. BNPL installments do not count toward this limit.

  • 2 BNPL plans

  • 1 tracking account

  • 1 budget

  • 1 category with a spending limit

Pro removes every limit. It is sold in three ways, all through Apple In-App Purchase:

  • Monthly - an auto-renewing subscription billed every month

  • Annual - an auto-renewing subscription billed every year

  • Lifetime - a one-time purchase with no renewal

Prices are shown in the App and on the App Store in your local currency before you buy.

Subscriptions

Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.

  • A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.

  • You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone). Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.

  • If you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, then your account returns to the Free tier. Nothing you entered is deleted; the Free limits simply apply again.

  • Apple handles all billing, refunds, and payment data. Budgetpeer never sees or stores your payment details. Refund requests go to Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com.

Lifetime purchase

Lifetime is a one-time payment that grants Pro permanently, including all future updates to the App, for as long as Budgetpeer is available on the App Store. It is tied to the Apple Account that made the purchase.

Restoring purchases

If you reinstall the App or switch iPhones, tap Restore Purchases on the upgrade screen while signed in to the same Apple Account you bought with. Your Pro access will be restored without a new charge.

Your data

You own everything you enter into Budgetpeer. We claim no rights to your financial information.

  • Your data syncs to your account so it is available when you sign in on the same or a new device.

  • You can export your transactions as CSV at any time from Settings.

  • You can delete your account and all of its data from Settings. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription; cancel that in your Apple Account settings.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App or its services.

  • Access the App's servers or data by any means other than the App itself.

  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or data.

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose.

Intellectual property

The App, its design, code, and branding belong to Budgetpeer. You receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. Your budget data remains yours.

No financial advice

Budgetpeer is a record-keeping tool. It does not provide financial, tax, or investment advice, and nothing in the App should be read as a recommendation. You are responsible for your own financial decisions.

Availability

We aim to keep Budgetpeer available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Budgetpeer is an independently operated product; maintenance and updates may cause brief downtime. Keep a CSV export of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Budgetpeer and its creator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, or for any loss of data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid Apple for Pro in the twelve months before the claim.

Termination

You can stop using the App and delete your account at any time from Settings.

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms. We will make reasonable efforts to tell you why. An account terminated for a violation is not entitled to a refund; refunds for App Store purchases remain subject to Apple's policies.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will give notice in the App or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the App after that date means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Budgetpeer's operator is based. Disputes will first be addressed by good-faith negotiation and, if necessary, in the courts of that jurisdiction. Nothing in these terms limits any consumer rights you have under the law of the country where you live.
