Privacy Policy
Budgetpeer is a manual budget tracker. You enter your own numbers - the app never connects to your bank. Your privacy is fundamental to how it is built. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
What We Collect
We collect the minimum data needed to run the service.
Account information. Your email address, and a display name if your sign-in provider supplies one. You can sign in with an email address, with Apple, or with Google. When you sign in with Apple you may choose to hide your email, in which case we receive Apple's private relay address instead of your real one.
Budget data. The transactions, categories, accounts, budgets, spending limits, BNPL plans, recurring templates and tracking-account check-ins that you enter yourself, including any notes and merchant names you type. This data is stored in your account so it can sync between your devices.
Profile photo. If you set a profile picture, the image is stored in a private storage bucket tied to your account. This happens only if you choose a photo.
Support messages. If you send feedback from inside the app, we receive your message, the type you selected (feedback, bug or feature), your app version, your operating system version, and your device's region setting. The region setting is a preference on your device, not your location - the app never asks for or receives location data.
Plan information. Whether your account is on the free or paid plan.
What We Do Not Collect
Bank account credentials or logins of any kind
Credit card or payment card numbers
Location data. The app requests no location permission
Social Security numbers or government IDs
Your contacts, your photo library, or other device data. A profile picture is uploaded only if you pick one
Data from third-party financial services such as Plaid or Yodlee
The app contains no analytics or tracking software. No analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash reporting service, no device identifiers. We do not track you across apps or websites, and the app never asks for permission to do so, because it has nothing to ask for.
How We Use Your Data
Only to provide and improve Budgetpeer:
Store and display your budget data, and sync it between your devices
Calculate BNPL payment schedules from what you enter
Generate spending insights and dashboard charts
Send reminders and alerts you have turned on. These are generated on your device
Confirm whether your account is on the free or paid plan
Answer your support messages
Send essential service email, such as a password reset
What We Never Do
Sell your data to anyone
Share your financial data with third parties
Show you advertisements
Use your data to train AI models
Track you across other apps or websites
Monetise your information in any way beyond the product itself
Payments
Purchases are made through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment and is the merchant of record. We never see or store your payment details - we receive only whether your account is entitled to the paid features.
Refunds, cancellations and subscription management are handled by Apple. Use reportaproblem.apple.com or your Apple ID settings.
Third-Party Services
Supabase hosts your account and your synced data. Supabase does not access or use your budget data. Their privacy policy is at supabase.com/privacy.
Apple provides In-App Purchase and Sign in with Apple.
Google provides Sign in with Google, if you choose that option. Google receives only what is needed to authenticate you.
No other third-party service receives your data.
Your Rights
Access. Request a copy of your data at any time by emailing hello@budgetpeer.com.
Export. Export your transaction data as a CSV file from inside the app.
Delete. Delete your account and all associated data from Settings. Deletion is permanent and irreversible.
Correction. Edit any of your data directly in the app at any time.
Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, the associated data is permanently removed. We do not retain backups of individual user data after account deletion.
Children's Privacy
Budgetpeer is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
International Users
Your data may be processed and stored in the United States. If you are in the European Union or another region with data protection laws, please be aware of this transfer. By using Budgetpeer you consent to it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes we will notify you by email or with a notice in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
